Even the not so trustable Globalist search engine of the West says that it is “the largest.” In fact, it is more popular than Rio Carnival, Mardi Gras, Wimbledon, Coachella Music Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Cannes Film Festival, or even St. Patrick’s Day in New York. World’s most popular festival is about aviation, aerospace, and technology. Especially young minds flock like migrating birds with bigger numbers each passing event.
BAYKAR AND BAYRAKTAR
Leading Turkish technology and defense industry company Baykar makes the legendary TB-2 drones. The CEO Selcuk Bayraktar is behind the Technofest idea.
This festival, initially, held at Istanbul Airport in September 2018. It is a collaborative effort of Turkish private companies, ministries, and academic institutions.
World’s Most Popular Festival
Actually, Technofest is not the world’s most popular festival. Octoberfest is because they serve beer there. So attendance is at 6 million. Technofest is at 3, but growing.
However, world's most popular top two festivals have one thing in common. While one makes participants drunk, the other makes them dizzy, but for a loftier reason.
In other words, the festival in Germany gives attendees a hangover the next day. In Turkiye, it awakens them with inspiration.
The results speak for themselves. Turkiye has a rapidly growing aviation, aerospace, and military technology based industries.
Boosts Exports
Turkish Defense Industry Exports were non-existent about a decade ago. Now it is 4 billion dollars a year. In a couple of years it should reach 10 billion and keep growing exponentially.
So much so, at least one of two dozen Turkish Defense Industry giants are expected to be in the top ten in the world. Now, there are four of them in the top 100. Many others should also make the list soon.
World’s Most Popular Festival
It is also important to note that none of the top 50 festivals in the world teaches anything, except Technofest. Plus, three are book fairs. The rest are there for vanity.
How much does Technofest take credit for Turkish industrial achievments? Does it share the glory with Turkiye’s IDEF, world’s fourth biggest defense industry fair?
Here is a list: Three are from Baykar. However, all four are one of a kind major military platforms with no competition in the world.
Turkiye now has the world’s first ever “drone carrier”, TCG Anadolu.
Baykar’s TB-3 drone races to become the first to take off and land from a flat top.
TB-2, a legend of a drone, and only one that is war proven in the world.
Kizilelma is a supersonic drone: it will take off and land from TCG Anadolu in 2024.
Few Others Worth To Mention
Just to emphasize further, how these festivals and fairs may be helping Turkiye grow fast and technologically. Here are some samples only. The list is too long for this post.
Canada used to have a company that was the world leader in Aperture Targeting System (CATS). Turkish Aselsan now has a superior version: The Canadian company is out of business.
Lockheed Martin has produced the only viable fifth generation aircraft in the world, after 20 year development. It is called: F-35. In December this year, Turkiye will have its own F-35 with superior features in the air.
The world’s most advanced and precise stand-off missile SOM-J is produced exclusively by Turkish Roketsan.
Turkiye just announced Siper defensive missile batteries, projected to become more advanced and efficient than the American Patriots and Russian S-400s.
Reportedly, despite not having the service record or reputation of the Glock, the Turkish Canik TP9SA is quite reliable but also offers better accuracy than the Glock with Winchester NATO-spec 124gr +P.
Maybe, the world’s most popular, but educational festival, makes a difference, after all!
