Arabs leave America for a whole slew of reasons only to end up with a number for rising Eastern powers. From Russia to China, offers are varied. However, what Turks now offer Arabs makes a big difference.
AMERICA PROVIDED ARABS NOTHING BUT GREENBACKS
America gave greenbacks to Saudi Arabia ever since 1937. It was in return for oil. It was a transactional relationship. Almost a century later, Saudis simply decided to part ways with America.
What Turks Offer Arabs
Tangibles & Intangibles
Turks offer Arabs tangibles and intangibles. One is technology. Another is the market. Third is water. Fourth is faith.
Technology
Saudi Arabia just concluded an agreement to purchase a large fleet of Akinci drones from Turkiye.
They come as a package with missiles and radars. Baykar, Roketsan, and Aselsan are the top three military exporters of Turkish platforms.
The Market
UAE signed an agreement to invest 50 billion dollars in Turkiye. 30 billion, reportedly, will be in the green energy field. The rest may be, for example, in the rapidly expanding medical tourism in Turkiye.
Water
Iraq is in talks with Turkiye regarding water flow from Eupharates and Tigris rivers. Apparently, more water is necessary downstream. Turkiye has built tens of “Hoover” like dams since 1960. It regulates water upstream.
Faith
Qatar invests in Turkiye or with Turkiye as it sees it fit. It has faith in Turks. It always had. Turkiye in return gives peace of mind but also security. Their faith in each other also sets an example for others in the region.
What Turks Offer Arabs
Makes Difference
Without all the greenbacks and security Saudi Arabia could not have become the richest kingdom in the Arab world.
The benefits of the transaction between the two countries were mutual. In 2023, Saudis decided to end it, snubbing the Biden Administration.
Remorse or Betrayal
Did America have more than greenbacks and security to give to Saudi Arabia?
Did America give all it could or chose not to give everything it could have?
Did Saudi Arabia end this transactional relationship for a better alternative?
Did Turks offer Arabs, including Saudi Arabia what America could or would not?
