War of Attrition with Proxies

When will the US, Israel, and the rest of the Western powers realize? The dynamics of the last century cannot be relied on in the 21st century anymore. They will cost the perpetrators dearly.

The difference between the administrations of Donald Trump and Joe Biden was stark. The latter insisted on the war of attrition with proxies. The former avoided it. Instead, Trump used a direct approach. The result was strikingly beneficial for the West and effective against the East.

PROXY WAR

Proxy wars enable major powers to avoid confrontation with each other. They compete for influence and resources, employing the lethal forces of third parties.

These parties may be an illegal militia, a terrorist, or a revolutionary group. They are incentivized or manipulated to fight the dirty wars on behalf of powers-to-be.

More often than not, countries are also used the same way. When they do, it means escalation because countries face harsher consequences.

In other words, proxy wars make poor souls and helpless countries sacrificial lambs. It is ironic in light of the Western values preaching “individual rights”.

Shooting Aksungur: Fatal Mistake

During the waning days of the Joe Biden Administration, an Iraqi general ordered. It took four expensive missiles to shoot down an unarmed Turkish drone.

Aksungur is like “flying ducks” when not armed to the teeth. It flies nonchalantly. It is massive and at a slow speed, it poses no threat.

Plus, the fleet of Aksungurs has been routinely patrolling Iraqi skies for a long time. It is a familiar site over four major northern Iraqi cities where one was shot down.

The general who ordered the missiles to shoot down bragged on a TV broadcast. As if he was paid to do so by a power holding his leash. That General now faces the death penalty.

Turkish Lesson of the Day

Don’t shoot a Turkish drone. Better advice would be: Don’t try to shoot a Turkish drone. To further clarify the point: Ask the Russians in the war against Ukraine.

Turks taught lessons to the world, including the US, Israel, and China. That is besides the Russians, French, and others who attended the Turkish school of hard knocks.
