Russia & America With Turkiye
What could they have in common is the first question that comes to mind. Why should they not be working together, pursuing their national interests? Yet, no one needs to know how they are doing it.
To some any combination of these two may seem an odd couple. Never mind three of them would be in one basket. However, in the international arena, there are national and strategic interests. That is why “politics make strange bedfellows”. So then, why should Russia & America with Turkiye not be working together, in discreet?
Especially when there is an expendable US senator and a country of not much significance!
MAHIR KAYNAK & MIT
Mahir Kaynak was a MIT agent.
He became a very celebrated intelligence officer of the Turkish agency. He is known with his famous quote: “See who benefits the most to understand who must have been behind it!”
Kaynak served for the Turkish intelligence agency from 1971 to 1980. However, Kaynak lost his “operative” status within a few weeks after he began working for the “agency”.
His mistake was to warn his superiors about an impending coup d’etat against Turkiye. He did not know it was an inside job. The coup took place three days later on 12 March 1971.
At the time, the Turkish Intelligence Agency was under the suzerainty of the US Intelligence Agency. During the Bipolar World, coup d’etats were the modus operandi. Kaynak should have known it.
As a result, he entered into the annals of history as the only Turkish National Agency operative that was declassified by his very own agency that classified him as an operative in the first place only a few weeks earlier.
He was, in other words, punished like the cow that “kicked the milk!”
Russia & America With Turkiye
In light of facts, at this time there are grounds for Russia or America to collaborate with Turkiye.
Sudden troubles of US Senator Bob Menandez, reportedly indicate that the work between America and Turkiye may have already began.
On Armenia, on the other hand, Russia and Turkiye may also be long at work, discreetly. Armenia should not spoil the progress for everyone else in the region.
Bob Menendez
US Senator Bob Menendez saved his behind once before. He was cleared after lengthy judicial and political assaults. Now, he is removed from his prestigious post with new allegations.
Though he is still a US Senator, his chances of getting away from fray this time may not be as easy. Simply because his sole backers have dwindled to minorities, like Greeks, Cypriots, or Armenians.
Current American Administration, in the meantime, has an urgent agenda. Aside from the upcoming 2024 presidential election, economic decay requires America to pursue new strategies.
In the meantime Turkiye, as an economic and military power of the region, presents ample opportunities for America. Nothing should interfere with these possibilities, especially no US Senator with a blemished record.
Armenia
Armenia, on the other hand, reflects why it has always been in trouble when it relied on Western powers. War in Ukraine should also reinforce how worse it could have gotten for Armenia in the hands of misguided Western support.
In the meantime, Russia has always been the raison d’etre for the independent Armenia. Yet, nowadays Armenia looks to Russia more and more like a brewing problem than a useful ally when Turkiye and Turks are collaborating with Russia.
For example, the trade volume between Russia and Turkiye will soon reach 100 billion dollars mark. That is beside the collaborations in Syria and Libya. Under the circumstances, it is no brainer for Russia and Turkiye to overcome this problem.
