New Beginning: For Whom?
Under the circumstances, it is for me. However, since I don't write anything but the US foreign policy objectives and Türkiye, this is a milestone. Maybe, my posts will reflect them from now on.
Why would April 2024 be a new beginning: For whom is a better question. For Israel and Iran, it should be. The arrow kind of left the trajectory, some would argue. Some others would insist on other much more convoluted and complicated explanations.
Nothing has to be in light of who has been in charge in America since 2020. The mess the world found itself in Europe and the Middle East with two wars ever since should explain. Blaming solely Russia or the Palestinians will not promptly answer questions.
SECOND CHANCE IN LIFE
April 2024 will mark for me when I die and begin a new life again. I had a difficult surgery. It was an urgent ordeal. I didn't know I was that ill until it was over. Now that I have a second chance in life, I am thankful.
New Beginning: For Whom?
Nothing To Take Home
Meanwhile, in April 2024, not much change in the world with some small “theatric” exceptions. Iran attacked Israel with more than 300 missiles and drones. No one died. Israel responded in kind and again Iran did not feel the pinch.
All the while, the war between Israel and the Palestinians continues. Much like the war between Russia and Ukraine. Nothing significant to note transpired or looks like will take place for the foreseeable future.
Ukraine complains the US and the West do not provide similar support they give to Israel in its war against Russia. Nevertheless, Israel also does not get the support that he used to get from the West.
The US was the only veto that killed the last UN Security Council decision. The proposal was for the recognition of Palestine in the UN. Previously, other countries joined the US veto or abstained. Not this time.
New Beginning: For Whom?
Insidiously Speaking
Nevertheless, April 2024 was not a new beginning only for me. For example, I noticed that Türkiye changed the name of “Incirlik” to “10th Main Jet Base Command”.
A name change, that is it?
Some would surely say what is the big deal. Plus, if it was a big deal, it would have received a lot more news than the Iran-Israel clash.
My answer is simple: That is why those who read my posts here learn about these not so much advertised “big” changes in the world. Others do not.
So, what is the big fuss about this name change that would make a “New Beginning” and “For Whom”? Let me tell you! How about the US and Israel, for a start!
What Gives?
Changing “Incirlik” to “10th Main Jet Base Command”
The last time the US was kicked out from “Incirlik” air base in Türkiye was in 1974. It took the US then six years to get back to this very important air base again.
Does that mean with this name change the US is being kicked out of this so important airbase for good this time? Yes and no! The Public will never know, will it?
However, the fact that the name change took place swiftly indicates a lot more than one can write about it. Don’t ask all the “Three Monkeys” in Wash DC about it?
Instead, just make another note! The US is a retreating superpower and the name change in “Incirlik” is the latest and most indicative sign of it.
What Gives?
Incirlik Is Vitally Important for the US But Also for Israel
Without Incirlik, Israel cannot exist as we know it. When Incirlik goes, next in line to go is “Kürecik”. There are two military bases in Türkiye that mainly protect Israel.
