London has always been the second most visited city in the world for us.
That is after New York, Washington, Beverly Hills, and Palm Springs, of course. Add to that Tarsus, Boston, Providence, Aix-en-Provence, Long Island, Miami, and Istanbul. After that comes, Tel Aviv, Lugano, Palm Beach, Milano, Paris, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Houston. Plenty others, however, among the well travelled, London journey marks history, most every time. We are, naturally, part of it.
CENTER OF THE WORLD NOT
Even though visiting London so often makes it for us “home away from home” one thing is missing. That is even when the London journey marks history, most every time, and our home towns cannot compare, except Beverly Hills, and Wash DC., since 2016.
When put into perspective, forever-center-of-the-world Istanbul comes out on top. In the past two decades, London may have marked history, almost every time we visited. However, one thing that London cannot claim is how Istanbul opens new ages in the long run.
Speaking of “Marking History”!
London Journey Marks History
Past, Present, and Future
We have been visiting London regularly for about two decades, uninterrupted. Our journey, at one time, was incredulous, having become almost bi-weekly visits. Recently, it also fell to as low as twice a year. That in itself explains the dilemma.
For the record, nationally, occupancy is stuck at around 30 per cent, compared to typical levels of around 60 per cent before 2020, according to the British Council of Offices. It is important to note: Office footprint shrinking at the fastest rate in 20 years.
London has been the center-of-the-world for us and others for a while. However, to make it last, London has to move on with the times. We long noticed the necessity. After all, for us, the London journey marks history almost every time and must continue to do so.
But for how long?
In the Past
Our, together, journey to London dates back nearly two decades. Daphne Barak made history with her breaking news exclusives time and again in London. Michael Jackson, Princess Diana, Benazir Bhutto, and Amy Winehouse, all came to fruition in this city.
Presently
Today, almost two decades later, we deal with no less significant global personalities. Our major stories involving the royal family members, Ghislaine Maxwell, Britney Spears, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., make big ratings in London, informing the world.
In the Future
However, in the future, more and more news makers will arise from the East, not the West. Hollywood, in its last leg, is not producing as many global stars anymore. As a result, no one knows where the next set of globally famous will come from.
London Journey Marks History
Only As Good As
The world has been revolving around the US until recently. Concurrently, our London journey, marking history, has always been, in sync with the prevalent “only as good as” motto.
On this trip, an exclusive sit-down interview with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. by Daphne Barak in California was our last work. It aired on the GB News TV, in London. Reportedly, it made ten times bigger ratings than the next show.
Brtiney Spears became the story in the last 36 hours again. Not that she was not lately one of the leading stories in the world and not that we don’t have it exclusively. Coming next! Stories from the West attract more and more less and less.
In that regard, it would be wise to look elsewhere to the East for the next breaking news and the pocket book issues. After all, they are “only as good as” when they break ratings and the banks.
Having said, regarding fast shrinking demands for office space, the GB News which we are affiliated with, has grown double in size in the past year or so and plans to double up again in the next two.
Something to note, in the meantime!
