Gökkubbe is “Sky Dome” in Turkish. Iron Dome is a mobile all-weather air defense system developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries. DESI 2023 is a biennial defence and security trade exhibition. Last one took place past week in London. Turkish Aselsan decided to attend again. This time it was there to unveil Gökkubbe, eclipsing Iron Dome, but it was a lot more than that.
In other words, Gökkubbe was not there to size up against “peanuts” like Iron Dome.
What if Gökkubbe was there for the long due and proper enforcement of the Westphalian Nation-States?
Wouldn’t that be the Mother of All Ironies for double faced and insidious Globalists?
Don’t these crazy Turks know their history:
Why was the Westphalian System created in the first place in 1648!
THE EVOLUTION OF AIR DEFENSE
In the 20th century, there was no dilemma. The US led Western Alliance had enough air defense systems in place. Everything was under total control.
In the 21st century, The US Army’s air defense units feel “overworked , manning missile systems across the globe to provide around-the-clock”.
In the 20th century, the rest of the world did not worry about air defense because they did not have any. The US and the USSR used their air space at will.
In the 21st century everyone is seeking air defense. Most countries don’t trust the US led Western powers anymore and seek air defense systems elsewhere.
Gökkubbe Eclipsing Iron Dome
By Far
Israel was the first country that stopped relying on the US. It built the Iron Dome to protect from the barrage of missiles coming from Gaza and Lebanon.
A decade after Israel, Turkiye came up with its own Sky Dome called “Gökkubbe”. It became the second US ally that felt it could not rely on the US air defense.
Iron Dome
The Israeli air defense system has three components: a radar that detects incoming rockets; a command-and-control system that determines the threat level; and an interceptor that seeks to destroy the incoming rocket before it strikes.
Gökkubbe
A cutting-edge ground based air defense (GBAD) system meticulously engineered to provide an optimal and modular air defence solution. It arrived a decade after Iron Dome. As a result, it came with a multitude of short and long range advanced features.

A Comprehensive All in One System
As simple as, the range between Gökkubbe and Iron Dome does not even compare, for example. The Turkish system has a 600 mile range while the Israeli is about 40 miles.
Gökkubbe is specifically developed to counter the world’s most developed aircrafts, missiles, and drones. Iron Dome is there to counter short-range rockets.
In other words, there is nothing to compare. That is why when Aselsan unveiled Gökkubbe at DESI 2023, it had an earthquake effect in the industry in the West.
Gökkubbe consists of half a dozen features. There is no other comprehensive system like that. It defends against anything in the air, coming from short or long range.
Korkut
KORKUT is a self-propelled air-defence gun system developed by ASELSAN in collaboration with FNSS Savunma Sistemleri (FNSS), for the Turkish Land Forces.
In Gökkubbe it is the first and last line of defense for low flying drones and aircrafts.
Hisar A, O, and U
The Hisar is a family of short, medium and long-range surface-to-air missile system. The missiles are developed by Roketsan. Sensors and electronics are by Aselsan. The range vary from 5 km to over 100 km:
Hisar-A / A+ has 15 km range.
Hisar-O has 25 km and Hisar-U has 100+ km range.
Siper
The Siper is a long-range surface-to-air missile (SAM) air defense system. It is designed to defend against any type of airborne threat.
It can fight aircraft, cruise missiles, air-to-ground missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It is jointly developed by Roketsan, Aselsan and Tubitak Sage.
Eralp
Aselsan developed Eralp radar showcased communications, air defense, avionics, electro-optics, electronic warfare, radar and unmanned system capabilities in IDEF 2023 Istanbul.
Eralp can detect and track all air targets from very long distances with new generation radar algorithms, digital antenna architecture, and electronic beam routing capabilities.
Gurz
MANPAD Missiles such as SUNGUR or STINGER are used against very low altitude threats. BOZDOGAN Missile is used as the Low Altitude Missile.
Gurz is the 'Turkish Pantsir'. It is created during warfare in Syria, Libya, and Nagorno Karabakh when Turkish TB-2 drones faced the original Russian version.
