Kicking France out of Africa twice in four hundred years does not give a good feeling at all. In fact, it sounds more like France may come back to Africa for the third time before it makes it three strikes and out in about 2230. With that possibility in mind, ending French-Colonialism in Africa this time around must ensure that it is the big final exit.
First French Colonialism effectively began soon after the arrival of the French to Senegal in 1626. It lasted until 1814 when France was totally kicked out practically all of Africa. Second French Colonialism started no sooner though. Only sixteen years later, the French came to Algeria in 1830. This time around in 2023, yet another two hundred years later, one hopes it is the end of it for good.
FROM SENEGAL TO ALGERIA
The second French colonialism venture began in North Africa when Ottoman Turks did not do it right in Algeria. Now Azeri Turks, with this conference in Baku, are trying to make it up for the sake of everyone.
They organized an initiative group against French colonialism. It marked yet another significant milestone in the right direction when Türkiye launched the original “Africa Opening Action Plan” in 1998.
Senegal and Algeria are not the only or most victimized African countries by France. At one time, 35 percent of Africa was under total control of the French who enslaved the inhabitants of the Dark Continent at will.
They eventually transported the slaves to their North American colony. The rest became the “dark American history.” From that perspective, it is about time to end this torture once and for all for the sake of humanity.
Ending French-Colonialism in Africa
On the eve of ending French-Colonialism in Africa with “Turks” basically doing the job, one thing has become clear. The French government must first lift the most absurd statement from its website.
It is travesty that the headline states: “France and the institutions protecting and promoting human rights.” In restrospect, it does not look like it ever did past 400 years in Africa, why should it be doing it now in France?
Apparently no one is expecting anything of that nature from France anyway. That’s why, the initiative in Azerbaijan on 6 July is only the beginning of the end with a Turkish stamp for a second attempt to kick France out of Africa.
On that note, unfortunately for all those Africans that became slaves in the hands of French and other Europeans, Barbarossa could not help you. He took control of Algiers in 1516. As a result, Ottoman Turks were able to protect most of the North Africans from slavery.
Mohammed to Nahel
In that regard, Tunisian Mohammed and Algerian Nahel, unfortunately brought home one more time the vivid memory of slavery in Africa. On that note, once again, they did not die in vain.
Yes, it is clear to everyone with conscious that they were viciously killed by those with no humanity in their bone when the current government in France continues to preach that it is “protecting and promoting human rights”.
In fact, on another note, perhaps France should keep the statement there as is and add to it: “Like Always,” instead!
