Don’t Greek-Americans make money over Greece? Don’t Jewish-Americans do the same with Israel. What would be so shocking when Armenian-Americans exploit the same with Armenia? That is American Capitalism at its best! Yet, history, geo-strategy and well being of the local people must also be put into picture. In that regard, there is a rich history of Armenians & Turks since 1064.
In light of how Turks were benevolent in Ani in 1064, and how Azeri Turks behaved in the 2020 rout, it should be no brainer to avoid conflict with Turks. Especially now, when Russia, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Israel, China, and Western Europe except for France are on the same boat, what is there to listen to any Globalist baloney from the US?
DIASPORA
Diaspora are people who have spread or been dispersed from their homeland. Every country has a diaspora, including the United States of America.
Americans living in overseas tax havens are one kind. Others would choose, for example, countries with no-extradition treaties with the United States.
Don’t I know it?
I have been on both sides of this dirty, yet very convenient and profitable lifestyle. So, there is no need to be holier than thou with me on “diaspora”.
Armenians & Turks Since 1064
History Speaks For Itself
At least in Ani, there was a fair fight between Armenians and Turks. The problem of Armenians in Ani was then the Byzantine that did not deliver in Constantinople.
Ani was the heart of Armenians in the first millenia. Seljuk Turks conquered it on 16 August 1064. Ever since Ani has been Turkish to date, nearly thousand years.
However, that is not the point. Like President Erdogan says: “There are no winners or losers at war.” At the end, both Armenians and Turks ended with their own diaspora.
Armenian Diaspora
What bothers me is why the other Armenian King then turned over the ropes in the region to the Byzantins and in turn took property in today’s Kayseri in Turkiye?
Was that the beginning of the Armenian diaspora heading West? Did the Armenians continue westward afterwards and finally settled in Marseille and California?
Turkish Diaspora
Since Mongol hordes forced Seljuk Turks to go West in the next two centuries, some must have ended in Europe long before the Ottoman Turks replaced Seljuks.
After all today, there are Turks all over Europe beyond Vienna. How did they end up in Finland and Scotland? Nevermind the ones in the European Union and the Balkans.
Armenians & Turks Since 1064
Continue Living Together
I have written two earlier posts regarding what transpired in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020.
One headlined it: Armenian Destiny With Turks. The other makes an accusation saying: Minsk Group Betrayed Armenia.
Based on these two posts, here are the current and existential problems of Armenia as discussed in the G-20 Summit in India this past weekend.
Unless cool heads prevail, two million poor Armenians will continue to suffer even more.
Armenia proper has no alternative in this dilemma that it is in, but two bad choices. One is further isolation. The other is isolation after more and worse hardship.
