I just heard that a leading American daily is frustrated with Turkiye. For example, the OP-ED of the so-called “prestigious” paper, lately, cannot decipher much of anything right coming from the president at the helm. However, there is good news. American-Speak Erdogan finally decided to make it easy for this paper.
Why Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkiye, does not like to speak English, no one knows. As a result, it is possible, some of his statements in past twenty two years may have been “Lost in Translation.” Maybe recently, in the G-20 Summit in New Delhi, he noticed, the agony, and decided to accommodate.
ERDOGAN’S PRESS OFFICER AT THE UNITED NATIONS
I worked for the Office of the Prime Minister of Turkiye for 15 years.
I was posted at the Permanent Mission of Turkiye to the United Nations in New York.
I served eight Turkish prime ministers. The last one was Erdogan.
He never spoke anything but Turkish. An official always translated for him. Until 2007, when I was there. This NY daily in question, did not care much about what Erdogan said in those days anyway. So, discrepancy in translation was not an issue.
American-Speak Erdogan Finally
Realized After Davos and Covid-19
In 2010, something changed. Turkiye was now becoming intransigent more and more. As a result, it was becoming necessary to try to understand what exactly was the problem. Alas, by 2020, the problem was already out of control for the Globalist West.
Early Problems in 2010s
Remember what took place in Davos, Switzerland, in 2010!
How President Erdogan suddenly left the panel meeting in the middle, saying: “One Minute! One Minute!”
Was he trying to speak English for the first time or did he mean to get yourself an “interpreter”? That is, in fact, when the problem of this leading NY daily began.
The Globalists in the West should have hired someone that can interpret to them what Erdogan was saying. They missed the boat for a whole decade until 2020.
Too Late in the 2020s
Remember what took place during Covid-19 months in 2020!
Turkiye kept factories open and supplied the world in dire need, in Africa, but also in Italy and Spain, in Europe.
Did this NY daily understand what Turkiye and Erdogan were doing? They did not need an interpreter for that but nevertheless.
The Globalists in the US should have sought to collaborate with Turkiye immediately. Much like the 45th president had long understood and was going to if he was let-win.
American-Speak Erdogan Finally
Felt Sorry
In the G-20 Summit in New Delhi, President Erdogan of Turkiye made two comments. One was for Europe. The other addressed the question for America.
For Europe
Question from an English speaking journalist was inquiring if and what Erdogan talked with the European Council President Charles Michel.
Erdogan said: “Same old. Same old.”
Apparently, European leaders have been discussing Turkish membership to the EU for the past 60 years and they told Michel to tell Erdogan that they were still discussing it.
For America
Question was again from a Western accented English speaking journalist. He was inquiring if President Erdogan talked with President Joe Biden about F-16s.
Erdogan said: “Same old. Same old.”
Apparently, Biden is waiting to hear back from the US Congress, much like Erdogan is waiting to hear from the Turkish Congress on Swedish entry.
American-Speak Erdogan Finally
To Get It Across
Thank God for the G-20 Summit in New Delphi, Bharat!
Finally, Erdogan spoke in English so that both sides of the Atlantic could understand.
Unfortunately, for “All The News That’s Not Fit To Print” daily of the world, let me interpret what Erdogan really meant to say even though he did the “American-Speak”.
